My second project at the RCA ran under the theme „small is beautiful“.

For this concept, I explored the idea of a car with a minimal carbon footprint.

This entailed not only using as little space and material as possible but also

utilizing the car's parking time to actively convert CO2 throughout its lifecycle.

Given that artificial photosynthesis is still far from practical commercial use, I turned to microalgae as a solution.

These microorganisms offer an incredibly efficient method for converting CO2 into organic, reusable materials.

Inspired by the ARRIVAL approach of zero-emission and minimalist mobility and

TESLA‘s solar technology, I see this car as a collaboration between both brands.

Ideation

  • A car is parked 95% of its time - unused time and space

  • Retractable solar panels to collect as much solar energy as possible

  • Supplies itself with energy needed to keep the microalgae in motion
